In which the OPP crew get their motors running and head on down the highway.  Join the Sloth, Southerner, the newly licensed driver Scot, and the Skirt as they hop in their murder vans and proceed down the road to Bitch Planet. It's a road that includes asshole driving instructors, comics creators having conversations with chain restaurants, squishy faced Jedi, and the continued prattling of sandy-vagina voiced Alan Moore. And in comics there's the butt-stuff of Sex Criminals, the maneater of Fatale, and the syphilitics tinged history of Manifest Destiny.

Review: Planetary/Batman - Night on Earth

Whenever I originally read this, I didn't have the slightest clue of what Planetary even was. I merely picked up the book for three reasons - firstly, because it had Batman in it, but also because I had recently come off of writer Warren Ellis' limited run on Iron Man with the "Extremis" storyline and because John Cassaday was one of my favorite artists at the time. So the talent was there, and I was itching to see how the duo would lend it to The Dark Knight. I didn't really get lost in following the plot, despite my lack of prior knowledge about the title, but in the event that you need a little more enticement than that, here's the concept of Ellis' Planetary: essentially, Planetary focuses on three superpowered protagonists. Elijah Snow, Jakita Wagner, and a social misfit called The Drummer. Their mission, as dictated by the organization they work for, is to discover the undiscovered truths about the world's history. Some of these missions range from the fantastical to the horrifying, and investigation into inter-dimensional anomalies were a common fixture of the series. Think of it as X-Files crossed into the more bizarre Superman stories from the fifties, and you've got a clear idea in your head of what Planetary is all about.

Episode 33

In which the OPP crew are back in action this week, fighting everything from whooping cough to shaved pubes, to bring you this episode. The gang talks about this week's slate of comics, one member's creepy Aquaman shrine (three guesses who that is), and some movie that came out this week. Yeah, it's no big deal, you probably never heard of it.

In which the three-man crew of the good ship OPP weather the storm of poor internet connectivity to bring you this week's episode. The two gents and one senor chew the fact and talk about this week's batch of comics, blacking out at pool parties, and the dangers of creepy photoshops. Sabotage, mysterious cuts, and bodily fluid splattered shields abound. Will they survive the episode? Will Alex explode from sheer joy upon hearing the Detective Comics related news? Will anyone outside Scotland actually listen to an episode?!

Episode 14

In which the crew welcomes special guest and comedian Ashley Storrie, who delights the crew with tales of what unfortunate body parts can get stuck in a door as they try and delve into the week's comics while fighting one of the crew's increasingly bad call connection. Discover what makes one of England's top television talent tick as they settle debates on women's status in the industry, whether or not logos should be taken out of commissions, and who among the crew would make a better supervillain. It may or may not end up being Lieutenant Uhura.

Featured in this week's episode: Short reviews of DC's flagship title, a less-than-classy ongoing, and a graphic "novelle", followed by talk of recent discussions in the comic book world about female characters, the cost of the ongoing fued between Marvel and the creator of Ghost Rider, and the graceful answering of the most live questions yet.
