Episode 95

In which the Off-Panelists make it rain! Following a lengthy string of two-manned episodes, the terrible trio returns to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting listenership, as the Southerner leads the Scotsman and the Sloth in a recap of an eventful week in both the world of comics and their personal lives. Following their reactions to the new X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer, a brief early review of Thor: The Dark World from the release abroad, and impressions of Batman: Arkham Origins from the resident Bat-expert, the three dive into the week's books and recount yet another Saga-edition of Brian K. Vaughn's Saga, the long-awaited return of Neil Gaimain's opus in Sandman Overture, vengeance in the courtroom with the finale of The Punisher: Trial of the Punisher, and even a second review of an Image Comics release from last week, Pretty Deadly. Episode 91

In which The Panel-Offists get dyslexic a little bit and organize a mini Dork Knights reunion, becoming sex criminals along the way and re-christening their already fiendish union. That's right, it's two for the trouble of one, as you're forced to join the Southerner and the Sloth left to their own devices for a night of debauchery, sexual innuendo, and plenty of Batman jokes. Well, that's what you should expect, anyway. Following the fap-worthy news of a TV show focusing on everyone's favorite Gotham City Police Commissioner, the two talk shop and discuss the premiere episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD before moving onto reviews of - fittingly enough - Image Comics' Sex Criminals #1, the Sagaist issue of Saga yet (maybe), Trial of The Punisher, and an anthology collection of All-Crime Comics, among others. Don't blame us, everyone knows we require adult supervision!

Review: Punishermax, Volume 2 - Bullseye

More than most, The Punisher is an incredibly divisive figure in comics. For those who prefer the more traditional superhero fiction, he can easily be a character to hate as a murderous vigilante who manages to stand side-by-side with some of Marvel's greats as an iconic character. For those who love anti-heroes like Wolverine, or even the heroes that tend to deal with darker subject material such as Batman or Ghost Rider, The Punisher is a compelling addition to a trove of comic book characters who aren't as morally sound as Superman or Captain America, instead thriving on psychological problems that dictate their sense of right and wrong. Started by Garth Ennis in the early 2000's, the Punisher: MAX stories traditionally bump everything associated with Frank Castle and his one-man war on crime up to eleven. The violence, the psychosis, the disturbing subject matter, language, and even the sheer insanity aren't censored down by traditional comic standards, left to be brought to the forefront. Like the character's inherent nature, it's a bleak ride made bleaker.

Episode 43

In which The Off-Panelists discover that they secretly have pull with DC Comics, as the Sloth, the Southerner, the Spaniard and the Selective Sister go about an epic-length weekly book discussion comprised of everything from the twistedly funny issue featuring the return of Doop to the logic behind President Captain America. In the midst, they resolve issues between them regarding one's refusal to read a DC mainstay's book, which movie is worse between Green Lantern and Superman Returns, and why a certain creator was just hired at Fox to make their creative decisions. Look out! Bruce Willis is... Batman.

The gang talks about this week's slate of comics, one member's creepy Aquaman shrine (three guesses who that is), and some movie that came out this week. Yeah, it's no big deal, you probably never heard of it.

Episode 30

In which The Off-Panelists ring in the big three-oh by wearing speedos in public and talking with their mouths full, as they kill an hour and thirty minutes by praising one of the week's books for too long, not talking about some books for long enough, continually dart out and about, and plot the makings of a swimwear calendar in the midst of the week's news. That's terrible podcast etiquette!
